Raymond Parrotte Obituary

Raymond Peter Parrotte, 84, of the 600 block of Happy Home Road, Tyner, and formerly of Binghamton, N.Y., died Friday, Aug. 18, 2006, in his home. Mr. Parrotte was born in Saranac, N.Y., and was the son of the late Edmond and Mary Dora Gagne Parrotte. The retired chief safety supervisor for Binghamton State Hospital, he was a life member of the VFW, a member of St. AnneÕs Catholic Church in Edenton, the Chowan Ruritan Club, and a former member of St. PaulÕs Catholic Church in Binghamton. Mr. Parrotte had served in the U.S. Army during World War II, saw action in both England and France, and served as an interpreter for Generals Dwight Eisenhower and Charles deGaulle. Surviving are his wife, Barbara June Smith Parrotte; a daughter, Dr. Dianne Marie Parrotte of Austin, Texas; two sons, Donald James Parrotte and wife, Jane, of Meriden, Ga., and David F. Parrotte and wife, Cynthia, of Tyner; three brothers, Richard Parrotte of Binghamton, Alric Clayton Parrotte of Zepher Hills, Fla., and Leo Parrotte of Plattsburg, N.Y.; three grandchildren, Terri Parrotte Austin and husband, Bruce, David Parrotte and wife, Kristi, and Kelli Wrenn Parrotte; and a great-granddaughter, Samantha Dianne Parrotte. Friends may join the family Monday from 7 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. in Miller Funeral Home, 735 Virginia Road, Edenton, and all other times at the residence. A private graveside service will be held in Brookvale Cemetery in Binghamton. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to any chapter of the American Cancer Society.
