Alice Martinez Garcia

1940 - 2010

In Memory of our Beloved Mother, "Nana", Sister, Aunt and Friend. Alice went peacefully to be with our Lord in Heaven on September 25, 2010. She was born in Harbor City on April 12, 1940 to Rudolph and Juana Martinez, whom are already in heaven, along with her sons, Jesse and Julio; grandchildren, Alicia, Veronica and Albert, awaiting her arrival with open arms. She made her home in Harbor City, and had many friends which she met while working at the Wilmington Jaycee's Senior Citizen group. She is survived by her daughter, Isabel Luna; son, Edward (Pilar) Avalos II; partner, Jose Luis Flores; sisters, Ramona Ojeda and Ilaria Garcia; brothers, Rudy and Regino Martinez; grandchildren, Eduardo III, Rudy, Lydia, Christina, Celena, Orlando, Analyssa, Juanita, Natalie, Jesse Jr., Corina, Desiree, Ashely, Ruthie, and 11 great grandchildren and 1 on the way. Many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Visitation will be on Tuesday, October 5, 2010 at 4:00pm to 7:00pm with a Rosary at 7:00pm at Gamby Mortuary, 25001 Narbonne Ave, Lomita, CA. Funeral Mass will be held on October 6, 2010 at 10:00am at St. Margaret Mary's Church also in Lomita, CA. Private burial at a later date. Alice will always be forever in our hearts and memories.
