Barbara West Obituary

Barbara McBride West of Rancho Palos Verdes, CA, passed away at the age of 85 on Monday, September 20, 2010 following a brief illness. She was born to Clifton and Vida McBride in Hayburn, ID on September 16, 1925. At a young age, they moved to the Los Angeles area, where she spent the remainder of her years. She was the beloved big sister to Ronald, David, Marilyn and Deanne. She was married for 65 years to her best friend, James West, whom she lovingly called "Chief". They had 3 children, Mike (Diana) West, Cindy (Craig) Allman and Betsy (Randy) Telford; 16 grandchildren; and 37 great-grandchildren; who called her Bobbi. She was known for her positive attitude, dazzling smile, contagious laugh and will be missed by all. Funeral services will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 5845 Crestridge Rd., Rancho Palos Verdes on Saturday, September 25, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. with viewing beginning at 10:00 a.m. Burial to follow at Green Hills Memorial Park in Rancho Palos Verdes. Barbara was a good friend of ours over the years. She was much respected and we appreciated her welcome smile at the Swedish Car Clinic in Harbor City. We know she will be missed by anyone who knew her.
