Cecilia Iacono Obituary
Cecilia passed away peacefully in her home on Sunday, November 28, 2010 surrounded by her loving children and grandchildren. She was a lifetime resident of San Pedro. Preceded in death by her beloved husband, John and great-grandson, Drew Nicholas Iacono. Survived by her four sons, Jerry (Phyllis) Iacono, Domenic Iacono, Anthony (Maria) Iacono and John (Annette) Iacono. She also leaves behind her precious grandchildren, Deanna, John (Nicole) Iacono, Joseph, Darren, Drew, Lauren, John, Christopher; and two great-grandsons, Matthew and Joshua. Cecilia's many passions in life were spending time with her family and friends, cooking, baking and knitting. As a member of the Velike Gospel Society and Better Half Club at Holy Trinity Church, she was truly a devout Catholic who embraced her faith in God. To all who knew and loved her, Cecilia will be greatly missed. Visitation will be held Thursday, December 2, 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at McNerney's Mortuary in San Pedro. A funeral Mass will be celebrated in her honor on Friday, December 3, 2010, 11:30 a.m. at Holy Trinity Church, followed by interment services at Green Hills Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Boys & Girls Club of San Pedro or to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Celia was a longtime dear friend of my gramdmother Ann Wilson who passed in 1989. Ann was very fond of her and spoke always so highly of her. She was a sweet lady.

Cecilia was a great lady. I had the pleasure of being in her home several times watching her cook or bake for family parties. She was a GREAT cook and she made the best pizza! I also have fond memories of her when she worked at Cross Pharmacy with my Mom. She was always cleaning and "straightening up" the items.
Cecilia lived a life full of love, family and faith. She will be missed. My family and I are so very sorry for your loss. May your many wonderful memories comfort you.
