David Stachowitz Obituary

A lifelong resident of Torrance passed away November 15, 2010. He was born December 19, 1959. He attended Nativity Catholic School and Torrance High School. He worked at Mobil Oil and later transitioned into construction. He was preceded in death by his father, George Stachowitz. He is survived by his son, Jonathan Stachowitz of Huntington Beach; mother, Joan Stachowitz, sister, Linda Plaza (Stachowitz); life partner, Vickie Fasani; brother-in-law, Carlos Plaza, of Torrance; and nephews, Carlos, David and Edward Plaza. David was a great carpenter / handyman who never turned down a request from family and friends for use of his many skills. He will be remembered for his sense of humor and love of bowling but mostly for his generous and kind heart which gave out much too soon. The viewing was held on Monday, November 22, 2010 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Halverson, Stone & Myers Mortuary in Torrance. Funeral Mass will be held Tuesday, November 23, 2010 at Nativity Catholic Church in Torrance. The interment will follow at Green Hills Memorial Park in Rancho Palos Verdes. Dear Joan, Linda, Carlos, David, Edward and Carlos:

I, too, am in shock to hear about David. I am so sorry. My thoughts and prayers are with you all during this difficult time.

My goodness, thinking of him brought back some nice memories of the way it was oh, so many years ago. What a blessing to be friends with such a wonderful family.

With love and hugs,
