December 6, 1951 - November 22, 2010

Surrounded by his loving family, Gary Lawrence Foster passed away peacefully on November 22, 2010, at 58 years of age in his childhood home in Torrance, CA. Gary was born on December 6, 1951, to Jo-Ann (Stewart) Foster and Francis Lee Foster. A lifetime Torrance resident, Gary graduated from West High School in 1970. As a devout Christian, Gary was a very loving and caring person, who would never hesitate to stop what he was doing to help someone else. Family was also very important to Gary, and he deeply loved his daughter, Erica and his son, David. Gary had worked at Standard Oil Refinery where he obtained training and earned his status as a journeyman electrician. Gary later worked for the City of Redondo Beach as a Lead Electrician. Gary is survived by his son, David Foster and his wife, Becky; his daughter, Erica Eve (Foster), her husband, Robert H. Michaelsen III, and their son, Matthew Luke; and their mom, Suzi. He is also survived by his brothers, Steve Foster and Brad Foster; his sister, Linda (Foster) Jebo; his sister-in-law, Linda (Anderson) Foster; and many nieces and nephews. Gary was preceded in death by his parents, Francis and Jo-Ann Foster, and his two brothers, Dale Foster and Randy Foster. A celebration of Gary's life will be held on Saturday, December 4, 2010, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at The Salvation Army Community Center, 125 West Beryl Street, Redondo Beach, CA 90277. It's been said " You can't measure a man's worth by the size of his bank account or by the amount of possesions he has, but rather by how much heart he has."
Gary was all heart & the richest man I've ever known.
Gary, it's been an honor and a privilege to know & love you and the world was a much brighter place while you were here with us on earth.
Your time here with us was so short. But God has greater plan for you.
We will see you on the other side.
You will be sorely missed.
Until we meet again....Rest in peace my friend.
Love and miss you,
Cindy
