Irvin Clark Moore Obituary

Passed away on Saturday, October 9, 2010 at his home in Torrance surrounded by family. Born in Hughes Springs, Texas on January 5, 1929, Irvin was 81 at the time of his death. He served in the Army in the Korean War and was a staff sergeant at the time of his discharge from the service. After his marriage to his wife Gloria in 1953 they moved to California and in May 1956, they purchased their home in West Torrance. Irvin worked for United Airlines for 43 years first on the ramp service and later as an aircraft mechanic. He retired from United Airlines in August 1991. He was a member of Pacific View Baptist Church in Torrance. He was preceded in death by in wife Gloria, in March 2007. He is survived by daughter, Shirley (Patrick Jones) Moore of Roswell, New Mexico; son, Richard (Diane) Moore of Laguna Niguel, CA; son, Mark (Susan) Moore of Torrance, CA; daughter, Patricia (Joseph) Anderson of Hawthorne, CA; 6 grandchildren, Danielle, Mark Jr., David, Jared, Alexandria, and James and one great-granddaughter, Marlize. A gathering of family and friends will be held Monday, October 18, 2010 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Rice Mortuary in Torrance. Interment will be held at Green Hills Memorial Park in Rancho Palos Verdes at 10:30 AM October 19, 2010. The Memorial Service will be held at Pacific View Baptist Church in Torrance at 12:00 PM on October 19, 2010. Please sign the guest book at www.dailybreeze.com/obits.
