was born on January 27, 1930 in Hanapepe, Kauai to Samuel Lei and Cecilia Ho'okano Napohaku. He passed away on September 18, 2010 surrounded by his family. They settled in Lawndale, California where they raised seven children. They divorced in the early 70's. He then married Barbara Bull in 1981. In 1945, Mike began working for Hawaiian Airlines and in 1957 for United Airlines. He retired from United Airlines in 1995 after 38 years of service at LAX. Mike then moved to Las Vegas. Not content being idle, he went back to work for 5 more years with America West Airlines. He was loved and admired by his family and friends and will be greatly missed by all those who knew him. He is survived by his wife, Barbara; children, Sherri, Pinky (Alex Aleman), Alex (Evalie), Clayton (Olga), Tracy (Nyeema), Kaipo and Christal; 18 grandchildren; and 7 great grandchildren. Thank you Al "Porky".
My dad loved United and his coworkers. I worked at United as CSR for 2 years after my dad retired and everyone had such good things to say about him. I still run into people who remember my dad.....I think he is hard to forget.

My sweet Pinky, my heart aches for you and your loved ones! Any man who raised a daughter as wonderful as you, was a great man! I know you will miss him terribly, but remember he lives on in your hearts forever.

I'm so proud to have been a part of the Napohaku Ohana for all these years.
I’ll always remember his back-seat driving directions. He always had to tell you where, and when to make the turns.
It’s funny because only now do I realize he was ALWAYS guiding me.
He guided me, by example, how to be the best father, unko, and grandfather I could be.
Now that he is gone, His spirit will live in all of us forever.
I hope it continues to guide me, just as he did. Though I’d sure wish I could hear just one more time “alex, go straight hea, den turn right, parkum there by da truck” (directions to my own house)
I've lost the very best father--in-law ever!
REST IN PEACE pops!

To Mike's Family.
Mike was my 1st Lead @ LAX after I transferred from ORD in 1968. Had a lot of respect for the MAN. He was sharp at loading aircraft & his operating on the Ramp. He knew how to work his men & we all had much respect for him.
GOD BLESS HIM.

Grandpa's smile could light up the room when he entered it, and although he was a quiet man you always knew how he felt by his signiture thumbs up or thumbs down signal. I love you Grandpa Mike and will miss you, but I know your spirit will live on through your children, grandchildren and greatgrandchildren in our hearts and memories, You were loved and will be missed. I send my condolences to the rest of my extended family as I cannot attend and wish you all the strength to continue on just as Grandpa would have wanted.
