Kathleen Riegel Obituary

Cathi was born in Pasadena, CA and grew up in the South Bay where she attended Mira Costa High School. Her childhood days were spent loving time in Hermosa Beach, a love that lasted a lifetime. She was a beloved daughter, spending time with her mother weekly up until the day she passed. Cathi is survived by her mother, Molly Smith; her brother, Bill Pomeroy; her uncles, Bill, Doug, Hunter; aunts, Betsy, Sheila, Teresa, Jalayne; cousins, Jason, Matt, sierra; niece, Heather; nephews, Greg, Kenny and many, many friends. Cathi had many challenges in her short life, overcoming an auto accident at age 17 which resulted in a serious head injury. She was a member of Options for Life and Westside Regional Center for the Developmentally Disabled, where she enjoyed spending time volunteering with Meals on Wheels, Heal the Bay and socializing with her many friends and co-workers at the center. Please join us Monday, November 22 at 12:45 p.m. at the Redondo Beach Pier (underneath Old Tony's Bar and Restaurant) where we will walk out to the end of the pier to celebrate the life and share stories about Cathi. If you wish to donate or are interested in their program, please visit their website at www.westsiderc.org. Please sign the guestbook at www.dailybreeze.com/obits.
