Margaret Kahn Obituary

Margaret Joanne Kahn "Grandma Joanne" a longtime resident of Hawthorne, CA, passed away peacefully in her sleep on November 11, 2010 surrounded by her family. Grandma Joanne was born to Margaret Martin and John Crosby on December 4, 1926 in Reece, Kansas. She was the 4th of 5 children. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, John, Richard and Thomas, her son, Gary Challans and husband, Anton "Tony" Kahn. She enjoyed social activities; square dancing and giving much of her time to the Masonic Lodge. Grandma loved her entire family and always glowed when she was in their company. She was peaceful, compassionate, supportive and honest. Grandma Joanne is survived by brother, Ralph Crosby; daughters, Terri, Susan and Mary; sons, Larry and Michael; grandchildren, Shawn, Holly, Faith, Erica, Everett, Sarah, Emily, Tony II, Anais, Mikey, Alex, Lydia; and great-grandchildren, Sebastian, Tara and Jason. May God bless you Larry and Sue and your families. I hope today is full of fond memories of your mom. I didn't know her well but she raised some great people! That speaks volumes about her character!
