Uncle Mike, I hope that in your Heaven you are able to be with your great nephew Bennett. It gives me so much joy to think of you teaching him to love nature, animals, sports and music. You can teach him tennis the way that you taught me. I am thankful that you were always around when I was growing up and always had time for me. It makes me happy to know tht you met my husband David and my daughter Abby. You were a kind and gentle soul. Your compassion for people was a great gift from God that you used well to make people smile. I know you are an angel looking out for all of us now. I love you.

It is difficult to express with few words what has been appreciated over a lifetime. I was gifted with a friend to grow up with and to cherish throughout my life. My Brother Mike had a beautiful heart full of grace and kindness. He loved to share what he passionately embraced. He LOVED music, enjoyed sports and possessed a spirit of wonder and appreciation for things not yet discovered. As a child he would wander off to find some wonderful new mystery to explore and true to his giving nature would share with anyone who would be open to receive his discovery. As I have read all of your entries I feel blessed that he discovered all of you. I grieve that he is no longer here to remind me of the uncomplicated beauty that simplicity can bring into your life. I will hold forever in my heart the memories that we shared. As children playing in the streets till the lights came on then as a teenager when I used to iron your hair with the iron on the ironing board before school:) Stairway to Heaven and Dust in the Wind will always shed my tears for you my most beloved brother.

I just went to Las Palmas this Sunday and I was looking for Mike. He was a fixture there. I knew him from HCC, so I had known him since 1984. Sonia told me he had passed away. I am so sorry for your loss.It will not be the same going there for breakfast anymore. I will truly miss him. In his own way he touched my life. Rosie Garcia (Long Beach, CA)

My Brother Michael,Though we didn't get together as often as I would have liked the last few years, you were always on my mind and it's hard to believe that you are not with us.Your kindness and your postive approach to life lives on in the people that you have come across. For me,i'll always remember the times when we would go play any kind of sport, and you didn't give me any breaks. You were always much better and beat me to a pulp. You taught me to be strong, and I truly looked up to you as my mentor.STILL looking up to you, because now you are in HEAVEN..Miss you,Brother -love always,Donald

Dear Leo, Myrna, Lori, & Don: my deepest sympathy over the loss of your beautiful son & brother, Mike. He was a good friend and such an important part of my life. I have so many wonderful memories of our childhood and teenage years, but what I will remember most about Mike is his kindness, his positive attitude, his love of music, his incredible knowledge about animals, and his smile! Our family on Pacific Street will never be the same, and he will be missed very much!

Mike will always be admired for his kindness, positive attitude and his easy to get along with personality. We spent many of our childhood years playing sports at the once open fields on Pacific street. Living across the street from each other we would frequently hang out at our homes and for hours at a time share personal interests, sports talk and music. I am fortunate to have been a part of Mikes life for so many years. Mike will be missed very much.

My deepest condolences to Myrna, Leo, Lorrie and Don.

My deepest condolences to Leo and Myrna. Your son had the most beautiful spirit. He was one of the kindest people I've met. You raised a beautiful boy. He was the best brother and girl could ask for. I always admired the relationship he had with Lori when we were growing up. He was truely Precious. Although I hadn't talk to him in awhile, I knew he was making someones day better. Just by smiling.
My thoughts are with you both.

My deepest heartfelt condolence to Mike's Family for your GREAT loss! Mike was full of life, happy and very generous. We miss you so much at Las Palmas and it's difficult to know we will not be able to physically see you in there. We are going to miss you having to tell us to change the channel for the sports game that was on, we are going to miss the conversations, laughter & fun we had, we are going to miss you just keeping us company for the day and mostly we are going to miss your soul!

You were so good to Ryan too. On Sundays you would keep him entertained while I was helping the girls and he liked being around you, he says he misses you too. You introduced him to The Three Stooges and he now loves them. You would always think of dvd's that Ryan would like and you would bring them in for him to watch. That's just how you always were, thinking of others before yourself.

Mike my family was your adopted family and I know that in your heart you knew that The Rodriguez Family loved you too so very much. We all miss you dearly. Rest in Peace My Friend......My Brother.

We miss you dearly.

Mike was an avid sports fan. He knew a lot about every sport. He was a lover of music of almost all kinds from The Corrs to Metallica and everything in between. He loved bringing in his portable dvd/cd players to watch his movies and listen to his music with his earphones on. He would lend or give us what he thought we would enjoy and he was right! He was a child of God always inspiring us with words of wisdom quoting from the Bible. He was a Great Friend and more like My Brother. Not a day has gone by that I dont look at the front door of Las Palmas without hoping its you walking in. We all miss your bright smile and great laugh. Rest in Peace My Brother My Friend Love You Always

Jr and I extend our deepest sympathy to Mike's family. We have so many fond memories of Mike. I first met him when I started attending Harbor Christian Center. Mike encouraged me in my walk with the Lord. He used to drive some friends and I to Calvary Chapel in Costa Mesa to hear the new and latest band. We know how much he loved that. We loved eating out, driving to the beach, meeting at Pete and Manuels house for worship and especially attending the church singles group. We will always remember him and the great times we had with him. Our prayers are with you all.
