Rebecca Ann Alderson Obituary

Betty was born March 14, 1923 in Terre Haute, Indiana. She went home to her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on October 28, 2010. She was raised in Streator, Illinois and was the youngest of seven children. At 18 years of age she moved to Northern California where she met and married the love of her life, Lee. They raised their family in Castro Valley, California and were loving role models for family and friends. They could be seen walking hand in hand the 64 years that they had together. Lee preceded her in death four years ago. Lee and Betty moved to Torrance, California 5 years ago to be closer to family. Betty was a loving mother to Nancy Crowell (Jim) of Palos Verdes Estates and Neil Alderson (Lynda) of Fernley, Nevada. She was the beloved grandmother and called "Nanny" by Jennifer Navarro (Dave) of Lomita, Jimmy Crowell (Ann) of Toledo, Ohio; Beth Crowell of Irvine; Julie Orr (Bob) of Sun Valley, Rebecca Elquist (Darin) and Hollee Alderson of Sparks, Nevada. Betty was great-grandmother to Molly Alderson; Macyn, Carson, R. J. and Drew Elquist; Madison and Taytem McCluney and Grace and Reed Crowell. Please sign the guestbook at www.dailybreeze.com/obits. Your family is in my thoughts and prayers at this time. I was fortunate to get to visit with Betty on a weekly basis for the past three years when I delivered meals to her each Monday. She will be missed.
