July 9, 1926 - October 9, 2010
On October 9, 2010, Rudolph "Rudy" Galindo left this earth to be with his beloved wife Rose. His grief could not sustain him any longer and his longing for her became too much. He was married to Rose Galindo for 47 years, who preceded him in death four months ago. He was the best father, stepfather, grandpa and great-grandpa that ever graced this earth. He worked many years at Hitco Aerospace as an operator and had the honor of working on the first Apollo spacecraft mission, something he was very proud of. He served time in the United States Army at the end of WWII and was commissioned to protect the Panama Canal. He was father to Rosie Ortiz (Ramon), Annamarie Martinez, Ricky Galindo (Susie); and his two sons, Larry and Joey Galindo, who preceded him in death; stepfather to MaryAnn Ritt, Bill Dolinac (Helen), Teeder Kennedy and Margie Evangelista (Mike). He was the most amazing grandfather to 21 grand-children and 34 great-grandchildren. His precious bird "Baby" was like another child to him. And she will surely miss her "dad" as much as we do. He leaves behind many brothers and sisters, nieces and nephews who will all miss "Pepino" dearly. He loved to visit Las Vegas in easier times and was no stranger to the black jack tables. He loved to help friends and neighbors and was well thought of in his neighborhood. He was a wonderful and caring father and stepfather to all of us. No one could have been better suited to take on such a motley crew. He never spoke an unkind word to any of us and always had plenty of advice on how we should do things. He was always there to help us if we needed him and never denied us anything. We want to thank his very good friend and neighbor Jaime, for always being there for him and loving and caring for him and our mom as if they were his own parents. We will never forget your sweet kindness Jaime. You, Dad, Rudy, Grandpa will be missed so much that the thought of you not being in our lives on a daily basis is almost too much to bear. But you taught us all well and we will be okay but we will never forget the love and caring that you showed us all. Rest in peace you wonderful man and we will surely see you again one day. A Service will be held at Rice Mortuary in Torrance on Friday, October 15, 2010 at 6:00pm with a reception in Rice's Lighthouse Reception Room from 8:00pm to 10:00pm. A Niche side Service will be at Pacific Crest Cemetery on Saturday, October 16, 2010 at 1:00pm. Please sign the guest book at
