Sr. Mary McKeever Obituary

Sr. Mary Elizabeth, St. Joseph of Cluny Sister, went peacefully to God in the Cluny Sisters' residence, 853 W. 7th St., in San Pedro, on September 22, 2010. May she rest in peace. Born in Belfast, N. Ireland, June 20, 1920, sister made her religious vows in Ireland, August 11, 1949. As a member of a missionary community, her assignments took her to various missions around the world. From 1998, she served in SS. Peter & Paul Parish, Wilmington, until the Cluny Sisters moved to Mary Star Parish, San Pedro, October 2009. The oldest of eleven children, Sr. Mary Elizabeth is survived by four sisters, two brothers, numerous nieces, nephews and extended family in Ireland, England and New York. She will be missed by her Cluny Sisters in San Pedro and all around the world. Special thanks to Trinity Care Hospice for their loving care of our Mary Liz. Visitation in Convent Chapel, Sunday, September 26 from 4:30 to 8:30 p.m.; with the vigil service at 7 p.m., in Convent Chapel, at 853 W. 7th St., San Pedro. Mass of Resurrection, 10:30 a.m., Monday, September 27 at Mary Star of the Sea Church, 7th and Meyler, in San Pedro, followed by interment at All Souls Cemetery, Long Beach, reception to follow. My family belongs to Saints peter and Paul and always loved seeing sisters smiling face. I especially loved watching Father Peter Irving and Sister Mary Elizabeth interact with one another their mutual admiration and love was obvious not to mention they were hysterical together. My prayers are with all of you God Bless Bobbie
