We will forever remember Valentin's big smile and even bigger heart. He was like my second grandfather. Valentin was true friend to my grandfather Jacinto. My grandfather would always talk about the friendship that he shared with Valentin. I learned my great thing from him and know that one day we will meet again in heaven. We lover you very much.

Dearest Alo, I was so sorry to hear you are no longer with us, and have gone on to a better place. I will always treasure my encounters with you, I will especially grin when I remember your spanish sayings with Kurt "Que Conio" It always made me smile. I can only promise to continue to be a friend to your family who I know you loved with all your heart, but I know you will never leave them and you will continue to watch over them. Your kindness, and gentleness will never be forgotten. I will miss you. Rest in peace.Until Then

I found out the news of your passing today from my dear friend and your daughter Ana. It has been some time since I had seen you, but Ana kept me up on your health over the years. We met when I was young in my 20's and I was not able to speak much Spanish- but we still conversed. I can still hear your voice say to me "Katy, how are YOU?" speaking with your hands in the air. I always wish the best for your family and will keep an eye out for them. I know your soul will go to the good place...

Although we never had the opportunity to meet Valentin, we learned from Bob over the years what a wonderful, kind and caring man he was. Bob told us of his love of family, sports and of life and people in general. We are so very sorry for your loss. Please know that our prayers and thoughts are with your family at this time.

My dear uncle "Tio Valentin", I sure will miss you tremendously. I thank God he gave me something inside that made me, my Mom, & Cesar, drove from Las Vegas and we had the opportunity to visit you in the hospital a few days before your passing. I always remember how generous you were with me as a child and others. Your smile, baseball, our conversations. I remember when you and Tia used to pick me up every morning when I was a little girl and take care of me during the day since my mom had to go to work. I will always remember at the end of every conversation you would always say "Cuidate Y Te Quiero Mucho". You will always be in our hearts and thoughts. Until I see you again, Tio. Te Quiero Mucho...Your Niece,

Dear Val, forever I will remember your sweet smile and kind ways. I will also remember the quality of man you were, brave and loving. May you know now and always how much you are loved.

Valentin was one of the kindest most loving people you would ever want to meet. I will miss his greeting.."Amigo, Amigo"!, his wonderful smile and our chats about sports (my Giants, his Yankees, los doyers) ,Cuba, family, my business, Las Vegas...the old days. Never complaining about his own loss of sight or having to walk with a cane, he never failed to ask about how you are, how is your family...how is your business....
I know I made him laugh with my poor Spanish...and that laugh...it was so precious!
I will miss sitting with him on the porch, sharing cervezas and listening to his words...just being around him made you feel better.
I know how deeply he loved his family. They will miss him terribly as will I. The last thing he told me was, "I love you..thank you for being my friend"!
Valentin..thank you for being my friend...I love you also and will always remember you.

Dear sweet Val, I will miss you and think about often, I grew up knowing you as a sweet kind man always with a smile and a happy hello. I will miss seeing you standing in the front yard and though you could not see you just listened to everything around you and greeted everyone so happily. I hope in heaven you can see everything that was in your dreams. Rest in peace.

Though I never met Valentin Quintana, I was touched by what I read, as I share a similar story. I left Cuba at age 14 in 1962, my parents arrived in 1964. I live in Redondo Beach. May God have him at his side and may He help you during these sad times.
