Robert Watts Obituary

RJ "The Man" Watts was born on June 29th, 1988 in Torrance, CA. From his birth onward, RJ was loving, selfless, and brought joy to everyone he met. He attended Palos Verdes Peninsula High School. A film buff from the beginning RJ taught himself to read at 3 years old with a computer program so he could understand the titles of his favorite movies he was already collecting on VHS. In later years he spent his days adding to his extensive DVD collection, making confetti, doing research on a variety of topics, and going to Rubio's with Gloria for his favorite food--shrimp burritos on whole wheat with chipotle sauce. One of the ways he described himself was as a 'Super Fan of Super Heroes'. Spider Man and the Avengers were his favorites. He loved animals, rode horses, and wrote heartfelt letters to his family, friends, and favorite celebrities. RJ truly changed people's lives for the better; his love knew no bounds. On October 19th at 2:30 pm after a heroic 5 month battle following a relapse of Hodgkin's Lymphoma RJ passed away peacefully. His final words were, "I'm going home."

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Transitions to Independence program, which RJ enjoyed immensely.

I remember the many times R.J. He loved superhero movies. We´d start off at Ruby´s to get his hamburger no sauce then head to the movies.

Hillary/Bob
How does a rational mind explain your family's loss of RJ? "Passing on" presumably is "generational", sequential in order.....not for the young! Accordingly, you have been through so much!

RJ's courage, wisdom, humanity, wit, compassion and love brought a special person to a special place.....where his suffering would end........ we trust and
believe the Lord's will for the very best! How else can it be explained?

RJ will always be a "cherished" example
for all who knew and loved him.....for those who never had the opportunity(like myself) the phrase "courage and grace in the face of adversity" will remain in my memory.

My wish for the family is the last verse of the "Irish Blessing"......."May the Lord hold you in the palm of His hand"......just as he is now holding RJ

RJ was a gentle soul with a wonderful sense of humor. He had a lot to teach the world. Unfortunately he had to "go home" way too soon so now it is our job to follow his example and to keep living by his words and actions. Rj will be missed beyond words.
