Robert Caranci Obituary

P. Robert Caranci passed away peacefully on October 9, 2014, at the age of 98. He was born to Dominico and Angelica Caranci on March 9, 1916, in Marshall, Colorado, and married Belva Banks Caranci on July 30, 1940, in Imperial, Nebraska. She passed away on April 20, 2005. Robert served in the Armed Forces during World War II in Africa, Italy, and Austria and was awarded the Purple Heart Medal and Clusters. He graduated from the University Of Colorado School Of Business in 1938, and worked at the Bergheim Clothing Store while in college. In 1950 he and his family moved to Greeley where he co-owned the Gregory Clothing Company. Robert retired in 1982 and later moved back to the family home in Boulder. In 2009, Robert moved to Redding, California to be near his family. Robert was a life member of the Elks and a past member of Kiwanis, Mariners, Knife and Fork Club, and the First Presbyterian Church. He enjoyed sports, fishing, gardening, and traveling. Robert was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Roland of Arlington Heights, Illinois, brother Frank of Billings, Montana, daughter Babetta, and his wife Belva. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Bary and Marsha Caranci, his grandson and his wife, Michael and Kerry Caranci, and his great grandson, Mitchell Caranci, all of Redding, California. A graveside service will be held at the Green Mountain Cemetery in Boulder, Colorado, on Monday, October 20, 2014 at 1:30 P.M. Memorial contributions may be made to your favorite charity in care of Allnutt Funeral Service, 702 13th Street, Greeley, CO.
