Jerry Elliott

1931 - 2015

Jerry passed away from complications of pneumonia at the TRU Hospice Care Center in Louisville, Colorado on April 29, 2015 He was born in Oxford, Nebraska to Rex and Fayne Elliott and moved to Boulder, Colorado in 1932. He graduated from Boulder High School in 1949. Jerry was in the Army during the Korean War. Afterwards, he worked in the family carnival business, and later was a driver for the Boulder Denver Truck Line. He then became an insurance agent for the IAC group. He married Sallie L. Austin on October 29, 1954, and they enjoyed 60 years of marriage until Sallie's death on February 14, 2015. Jerry enjoyed hunting, fishing and gunsmithing and excelled in all three hobbies. He was preceded in death by his parents, Rex and Fayne Elliott, his wife Sallie, and two brother-in-laws, John Austin and Nick Bullock. Jerry is survived by his son, William M. Elliott of Boulder, and his son Robert E. Elliott of Grand Junction, Colorado. He is also survived by sister-in laws Susie Bullock and Weslyn Austin, nephews Jay Austin, Rick and Tom Bullock and nieces Stacy Perdew and Laura Talley, as well as his grandchildren, Preston Elliott, Meredith Adkins and Elizabeth Stohlman. Jerry was a strong man, and though he suffered from many physical ailments, he never complained. He was a good man who was always there for his wife and sons. If you were his friend, he was your friend for life and would support you with his generous love and caring ways. A memorial service for both Sallie and Jerry will be held on Saturday, May 30, 2015 at 11:00 AM at Crist Mortuary, 3395 Penrose Place (Highway 119), Boulder, Colorado.
