Rona Kantor Obituary

Rona Karen Kantor (né Levine) passed away on the morning of Saturday, 8.8.15, after a 2-year battle with interstitial lung disease. She was born in The Bronx, New York, on 12.9.45 to Mickey and Joel Levine. After graduating from New Rochelle High School in 1963, Rona attended Marietta College in Ohio for two years. In 1968, Rona married Sherwood "Skip" Kantor. Their first daughter, Adrienne, was born in 1971, followed by their second daughter, Liza, in 1975. In 1976, Rona and Skip moved to Colorado to raise their family. Rona held a number of executive office positions in her professional career and was considered one of best in her field. Rona had an immense love of cats and rescued many of them over the course of her too-brief life. She loved to eat good food, especially desserts, and enjoyed trying new cuisines. Her greatest joys in her final years were visiting her grandsons, snuggling with the kitties and walking her faithful pug. A beloved mother, sister and grandmother, Rona is survived by her two daughters, Liza of Niwot, Colorado, and Adrienne of San Jose, California, as well as her brother Leslie of Henderson, Nevada, and two grandsons by Adrienne, Bradley and Matthew.

Adrienne and Ingrid (Liza), I was thinking of your mom as I usually do when her birthday rolls by on Dec 9. We lost touch many years ago but I remember our years together fondly. Your mom was such a great help getting me on my feet when I first moved to Boulder, letting me rent a room for 4 years. You girls were only ages 5 and 9 at the time. I know you must miss her. I want to express my sincere condolences. You can find me on Facebook if you would like to keep in touch. I live in Columbus, Ohio. Sue Schlepp

Liza and Adrienne, I just found this online. I want you to know that even though i lost touch with your mother, I think of her often. Remember, the first no utensil spaghetti dinner. What fun. Then Liza I remember you bring your Bird friend, to the one in Lincoln City, OR.

I love her laughter and her love of cats. BTW, I am so allergic to cats the few times i visited in Niwot, I had to take benedryl to overcome, but it was worth it to spend a few moments, mostly out on the deck. Sending you both much love.

My sincere condolences to your family. May God "who comforts us in all our trials" (2 Cor 1:4) comfort you and your family at such a difficult time. I know God will help you to endure because he cares for you ( 1Peter 5 :7).
