Finally brave enough to read the condolences. Extending gratitude, love and appreciation for them all. We are Still in shock. Reading the sweet messages is surreal, my head just can't get that this is about my dad. We had such a good summer, and just celebrated David's birthday, just three days before my dad would have to leave us. We were laughing and sharing funny stories with the waitress, our meals were great we were at the Buckhorn. I'm so grateful for that night, and for the extra hugs. I still expect this to be a joke, someone else's story. I still expect him to knock on my door...mom still is expecting him to come through the door... it's like breathing a new kind of oxygen. Two more of my dad's close friends have joined him in Heaven these past few weeks...I know Heaven is a real place, and my dad is showing them around...

Janet, my condolences to you and the entire Denny family; there are few words that can express the sadness in the loss of a loved one. Gary was one of those good guys that we were all fortunate to know if it was only for a moment or for a lifetime.
Blessing to each of you,

Janet, I have very fond memories of all the times Gary helped my family with projects at the ranch. We all loved him and will miss him. He loved to supervise projects and we always had a good laugh over one thing or another.

Janet,
My sincere condolences to you and your entire family (My extended Family).
I truly enjoyed working with Gary remodeling homes during my burn recovery. He helped me through that rough time in my life and I am truly grateful. Awesome memories and great conversations we had during that time. Now, my most memorable experience with my friend Gary Denny. Gary and I were cutting the eave off of a flat top roof to add a pitched roof when he stepped back on a section he had just cut. Needless to say, I couldn't catch him as he was falling to the ground, hitting his head on the water main into the house. Trying to help him, as water was speying from the broken water main, he is bleeding from a cut to his head. Got the water turned off, I'm Rushing him to the hospital and calling his Lovely wife Janet to inform her of the mishap. Of course the homeowner is calling and complaining of not having water. Gary recovered and we laughed about it later. Definitely the most memorable time I had with Gary. May you rest in peace my friend. You will be missed.

In the early spring of 1972 I was an eleven year old boy who had the good fortune to stay over night at Uncle Gary and Aunt Janet's house. We were to get up before the sunrise to load up and head out to Stonyford for one of the legendary Denny trailride's. But the wind was blowing so hard up on the hill that I could not get to sleep and was scared to death, that's when my uncle poked his head in the door to check on me. He made me feel safe and sound because that's who he was, he kept a protective eye on all of us without us even knowing. Our family and the world has truly lost one of the good guys, he will be sorely missed. Ride on Uncle Gary.

I love and miss you so much Uncle Gary. I can't believe you're gone. I used to love going to your house when I was a kid. Some of my best memories. Except for when that rooster used to chase me. That wasn't fun. Haha!

My Cous! Gary, Loving, Caring, Thoughtful and Generous
Very devoted to his family and friends.
We have had such wonderful times together over the years.
Spending the Holidays, Riding Quads, Barbecues, playing Dominoes and Cards.
Or just going to Wendy's for Chili , or In -out Burgers or just riding around looking at farmland. We always had a great time.
We will always cherish our memories, and miss him very much.......
Janet, Veronica, Kimberly, David, Tyson and Josh, you are in our thoughts and prayers.
Love ❤ You All

The caption under Gary's photo in the 1960 WHS yearbook, "He Knows What Is What." That seems to have fit him very well. RIP Gary.
