Anna M. Alfree

Anna M. Alfree, 89, formerly of Putnam Rd., Rotterdam, died on Monday, February 16, 2009, at The Avenue Nursing Home. Anna was born in Schenectady, the daughter of the late Lawrence and Agnes Komorny Matula. She worked as a cook at the Glendale Nursing Home for 17 years and retired in 1984. Anna was a member of the Women's Slovac Association. In addition to her parents, Anna was also predeceased by her husband, James Alfree Sr., who died in 1994. She is survived by three sons, James (Ellen) Alfree Jr. of Glenville, Charles (Susan) Alfree of Mariaville, and John Alfree of Rotterdam; two daughters, Susanne Kingsley of Rotterdam and Sandra Alfree of Scotia; her brother, Lawrence Matula of Rotterdam; seven grandchildren, Dawn (Dave) Campochiaro, June Alfree, Michael Alfree, Alisha (Nick) Muller, Jessie (Dave) Knight, Christina Kingsley and Thomas Alfree; and six great- grandchildren. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday evening from 7 to 9 p.m. at the DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home, 1605 Helderberg Ave. A graveside committal service will be held on Friday, 2 p.m. at St's.
