I´ve been thinking about Delaney so often lately, and your wonderful family. Losing a child has to be the most devastating feeling any parent can have. I know that you know I lost Jack. Every day is different, sometimes I wonder how I function and put a new gardens and paint my whole house. I love to Delaney and I will never ever forget her. How many years ago was that that I was her kindergarten teacher? Your son was a wonderful friend to Jack!
Check size went to a young girl that was in a car accident. That makes me feel wonderful and happy. He had the most beautiful blue eyes! I love how they honored Delaney for being an organ donor. I hope you get this message I´m not sure but I will try to find you on Facebook. I guess we all become part of a very very special group of parents and wonderful people who miss their children who are in heaven xo

I was so sorry to hear about the loss of your beloved daughter. May God give you and your family the strength and courage you need during this most difficult time. I pray that that the memories of special times and of the special person Delany obviously was will strengthen and sustain you so that the pain of your loss will ease. I cannot express how sad I am for you and your family. I never had the priviledge of meeting Delany but I cannot help but cry for your pain. I hope you know that we are all praying for you during this difficult time. You will always be in my prayers because I can only begin to imagine how painful this is and will be in the years to come. Delaney was a friend of my neice. I recently came across a poem online that Delaney wrote. It is so beautiful, I had to share it here. I think Delaney would want that.
"Glimmering Star"
by Delany Van Wert
"I wish I were a star glimmering in the sky,
The whole world would lie under me,
I would sleep all day and stay up all night
I would light up the rooms on scary nights.
All the wishes from the children will come true,
The moon and I will share the night sky,
Shining the bright light like a train leading the way home,
I would bring joyfulness to children below me,
Hearing voices sing “Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star”
I will always live as long as I am a star,
I would be taller than any skyscraper or mountain,
The world would change as I watch,
It would be the most beautiful sight in the sky,
I would be everlasting like a candle never blown out."
I don't know when she wrote this, but Delaney honey, I hope you got your wish.
