Michael K. Dunn

Michael K. Dunn, 54, passed away peacefully on December 10, 2016 at his home, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Schenectady, he was the son of the late John and Leatrice Dunn. Michael was a 1980 graduate of Mohonasen High School, and went on to continue his education at Schenectady County Community College. Michael married his beloved wife, Tracie (Duto) Dunn, on May 23, 1987. He was currently Supervisor of General Operations for the New York State Assembly, a job he held for almost 30 years. Michael's greatest joy was his family and he enjoyed remodeling their home to make it as comfortable for them as possible. One could often find him golfing, especially on Tuesday nights, at the Schenectady Municipal Golf Course. Michael was also a sound engineer, helping bands such as Crying Out Loud, Out of Control, EB Jeb and many national performers. In addition to Michael's loving wife, Tracie L. Dunn; he is survived by his children, James Favaloro, Jennifer L. Dunn and Christopher Dunn. His brother, Steven Dunn; and his sisters-in-law, Theresa (Richard) Noble, Patricia (Edgar) Schults, Debra (Dan) Brown (Armand Choiniere), Sandra (Norman) Dion and Kimberlee Edwards. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and many friends, especially, Gregg Simmons, Chris Dalmata and Scottie Walrath. His canine companion, Jada, also survives. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his mother and father-in-law, Lois and Jim Duto; as well as his dog, Neeko. Calling hours for Michael will be held on Wednesday, December 14, 2016 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Glenville Funeral Home, 9 Glenridge Road, Glenville. A celebration of his life will be held on Thursday, December 15, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home. The family would like to thank Dr. Tyler Kenning, Dr. DeJesus, Dr. Tai, as well as the entire Neuro Unit at Albany Medical Center and the Community Hospice for all the care and compassion shown to Michael and his family.
