Allen Denniston Obituary

Allen Denniston, 94, of Algonquin Road, died at home Monday, March 6, 2017. Allen was born in Harlem, NY to the late Alexander and Narcissa Allen Denniston. He received a master's degree from Boston University and was a U.S. Army veteran, serving during WW II. He worked as a writer for the General Electric Co. in Schenectady for several years. Allen was predeceased by two sisters, Carolyn May Peake and Narcissa Priestley. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Dorothy Denniston and several nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral service which will be conducted Thursday, March 9 at 1 p.m. at the Gleason Funeral Home. There will be no calling hours. Interment will be in Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery, Niskayuna. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, P.O. Box 1000 Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38101.

Even though I only knew Allen for a short time he touched my life in many ways I will miss watching the opening bell with him every morning at 9:30am
