MICHAEL WILLIAM KLOPP

Michael William Klopp (Engelhard) Michael William Klopp (Engelhard), 24, of Antioch and Round Lake Beach passed away at home Wednesday, Sept. 30, 2009, surrounded by his loving family, friends and his Pastor, John Engberg. Michael was born Oct. 12, 1984. In the last 3½ years Michael has battled Glioblastoma (stage IV brain cancer). He was a real fighter, never asking "why me*" Since June, his fight got much harder. Michael grew up in Round Lake Beach and graduated from Round Lake High School in 2003. He later attended College of Lake County. Michael played baseball for many years at Avon Township and later was an umpire on the same fields that he so loved. He especially loved the Chicago Cubs attending 6 - 12 games each year. Michael was the loving son of Barbara and Rick Engelhard. His siblings include Howard (Dina) Odle, Eric (Eva), Mark (Nikki), Valerie and Robert Engelhard. Michael was a favorite uncle to Devin, Howard III, Tyler, Mason Michael and his godson, Jake Michael. He will be greatly missed by his aunts, Patty and Amy (Bill), his uncles, David and Joe (Zenona) and many cousins. He was especially close to his cousins, Lindy, Rachel and Ryan, as well as his other godson, Jacob. He leaves behind many friends and will be greatly missed by three of his best friends, Ryan, Greg and Derrek. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Mary and Nicholas Malinski and Audrey and Herbert Engelhard; aunt Linda; uncles, Nick, Jerry and Bruce; as well as his very good friend, Mike Lampi. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Oct. 10, at 12 p.m., with visitation from 10 a.m. until the time of service, at the Chain of Lakes Community Bible Church, 43 W.
