JAMES W. "JIM" RASINS

GLEN ELLYN - James W. "Jim" Rasins, 66, passed away September 30, 2017. Survived by his beloved wife Barbara (Pfursich) of 38 years. Loving stepfather to Kim (Joe) Ambrose and Suzanne (Sean) Flynn. Wonderful grandfather to Brian, Austin, Jack, Kyle and Patrick. Fond brother to Linda, Bob (Carol) and Sue (Ben) Pawlowski; and brother-in-law to Ed (Shannon), Fred (Susie) and Ted (Peg) Pfursich. Caring uncle to many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents William and Janice and his grandson Joey Ambrose. His career spanned 32 years for DuPage County where he was the DuPage County Chief Deputy Auditor for 24 of those years and the County Auditor for the last eight, until his retirement in 2008. Jim was an active member of the Glen Ellyn community who established many close relationships through his volunteer work as an active member at Grace Lutheran Church in Glen Ellyn where he developed his deep Christian faith; cooking for the homeless through PADS; as a member of the Glen Ellyn Jaycees and Central DuPage Kiwanis Club; as Founding Member of the local Lutheran Brotherhood Chapter; and as a 30-year member of the Glen Ellyn 4th of July Committee. His hobbies included gardening, fishing, traveling, woodworking and spending as much time as possible with his five grandsons.
