JOHN HENKEL Obituary

John C. Henkel formerly of St. Charles The funeral service for John C. Henkel will begin with prayers at 9:30 a.m. Friday, March 4, at the funeral home, before proceeding to St. Patrick Catholic Church, 408 Cedar St. in downtown St. Charles for Mass at 10 a.m. Interment will follow in Resurrection Cemetery in Geneva. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, March 3, at Moss-Norris Funeral Home, 100 S. Third St. (three blocks west of the river and one block south of Route 64) in St. Charles. Born May 21, 1917, in West Brooklyn, Ill., the son of William and Angela Henkel, he passed away peacefully Monday, Feb. 28, 2011, at Provena Mercy Center in Aurora. John was united in marriage to Dorothy Neumann. He is survived by his five children, Stephanie Henkel of St. Charles, Tom (Lisa) Henkel of Littleton, Colo., John (Nancy) Henkel of Batavia, Jim (Laura) Henkel of Glen Ellyn and Paul (Julie) Henkel of Fishers, Ind.; and eight grandchildren. In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Dorothy; and a son, Michael.
