JOEL KUNESH Obituary

Joel J. Kunesh a 35-year resident of Winfield Visitation for Joel J. Kunesh, 74, will be on Wednesday, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Williams-Kampp Funeral Home, 430 E. Roosevelt Road (one block east of Naperville Road), Wheaton. A funeral Mass will be on Thursday, at 11:30 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Church, Winfield. Interment will be in Assumption Cemetery. Born May 16, 1936, in Cleveland, Ohio, he passed away Saturday, Feb. 12, 2011. He was raised in Maple Heights, Ohio. As a current trustee of the Village of Winfield, he was also a pioneer in creating the future River Walk of Winfield. He was a former manager of Industrial Coating. He was a longtime member and Eucharistic minister of St. John the Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife Harriett of 54 years; his three sons, Joel Jr. (Teresa), Michael (Deborah) and Christopher (Lynette); his five grandchildren, Stephanie, Joel III (Jennifer), James, Kayla and Scott Kunesh; a great-granddaughter, Ellie Kunesh; his sisters, Jane (the late Mack) McDowell and Kathryn (Bruce) Korb; and many nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Advocates of Winfield River Walk, c/o the Village of Winfield, IL, 27W465 Jewell Road, Winfield, IL 60190. Harriett and family,

My sympathy to you and your family. Joel was an unpretentious man with a lot of faith and dedication to his family, church and the village. I am praying that you can take comfort knowing that he is no longer suffering and in heaven with God in eternal life.
