ANDREW DINGESS Obituary

Andrew W. "Bill" Dingess Services for Andrew W. "Bill" Dingess, 80, of Irma, Wis., will be held at 11:30 a.m. Friday, Dec. 31, at Bible Presbyterian Church, Merrill, Wis., where friends may call from 9 a.m. until the time of the service. The Rev. Robert Smallman will officiate. Services will also be held 11:30 a.m. Monday, Jan. 3, at Village Church, Bartlett, where friends may call from 9 a.m. until the time of the service. The Rev. Michael Fuelling will officiate. Burial will be Monday, in Fairview Memorial Park in Melrose Park, Ill. Born Aug. 23, 1930, to the late John Andrew and Mabel (nee Jacobs) Dingess, he passed away Tuesday, Dec. 28, 2010, at Sacred Heart Hospital in Tomahawk, Wis. Bill married Ruth Wagner in Chicago on Oct. 29, 1955. Bill served in the Air Force in Libya, North Africa. Bill began his career as an engineer working with R.R. Donnelley & Sons in Chicago. After retiring as an engineer, he got into teaching, starting at Oakton Community College in Des Plaines, Ill., then working in Wausau, Antigo and Lincoln Hills, Wis. Boys School in the North Central Technical College Programs. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, his dog B.J., driving, attending church and Bible study, target practice and spending time with his family, especially his grandsons. Survivors include his wife, Ruth Dingess of Irma; sons, John (Paula) Dingess of Hanover Park, Ill. and Bill (Sara) Dingess of Tomahawk; grandchildren, Ryan, Steven, Aaron and Nathan Dingess, and Kristin, Spencer and Lindsay Pluger; and great-grandson, Ethan. He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, John Dingess. Memorials may be given to Bible Presbyterian Church.
