DORA CANTERBURY Obituary

Dora Mae Canterbury a former longtime resident of Roselle Memorial services for Dora Mae Canterbury, 86, of Buffalo Grove, will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, June 19, at The Smyrna Church of God, 7N728 Church Road, Hanover Park, with Pastor Larry R. Greathouse Jr. officiating. Interment will be private. Dora was born on May 9, 1925, in Pettus, W.Va., the daughter of the late Thomas Edward and Hettie Ann (nee Bliffith) Holstein, and passed away peacefully at the Rainbow Hospice Ark in Park Ridge, on Sunday, May 22, 2011. In 2002, Dora moved from Roselle to Fort Myers, Fla., where she lived until returning to Illinois in 2010. Dora was also a longtime active member of the Smyrna Church of God in Hanover Park, where she had served in many of the church ministries throughout the years. She was the beloved wife of the late Arley Kenneth Canterbury, who passed away in November of 1984; loving mother of Arley (Vesna), Kenneth James and the late Rufus Canterbury; and cherished grandmother of Laura, David, Tigra, Crystal and Alexandria Canterbury. In lieu of flowers, memorials for Rainbow Hospice Ark, 1601 N. Western, Park Ridge, IL 60068, would be appreciated, in memory of Dora.
