GERALD HELLMAN Obituary

Gerald J. "Gerry" Hellman of Algonquin Gerald J "Gerry" Hellman, 67, a former many-year resident of Hoffman Estates, died Friday, Jan. 21, 2011, at Sherman Hospital in Elgin. Gerry was born March 30, 1943, in Flint, Mich., the son of the late Gordon A. and Gertrude M. (nee Decker) Hellman. On Dec. 28, 1963, he married Charlotte A. "Sherry" LaBine. Gerry was a nine-year resident of the Algonquin area and a former 30-year resident of Hoffman Estates. Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Sherry; their children, Christopher (Lorelei) Hellman, Claire (James) Hill, Michael (Lisa) Hellman and Andrew (Katie) Hellman; grandchildren, Jake, Luke, Lyla, Connor and Brody; a brother, Michael (Suzanne) Hellman; and sisters, Susan (Arthur) Lines and Sharon (the late David) Bauer. He was preceded in death by his parents. Gerry's family has decided to mourn their loss privately. Private family memorial services were held Wednesday afternoon at the Miller Funeral Home, West Dundee. Please omit flowers. A memorial has been established in his memory in care of Andrew Hellman, 420 King Ave., East Dundee, IL 60118. For information, 847-426-3436.
