Randall Bernier Obituary

Randall B. Bernier of Cary Visitation for Randall B. Bernier, 43, will be from 3 to 9 p.m. Friday, March 13, at Davenport Family Funeral Home and Crematory, 419 E. Terra Cotta Ave. (Route 176), Crystal Lake. He will lie in state from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 14, at the Cary United Methodist Church, 500 1st St., Cary. Burial will be in Windridge Memorial Park Cemetery in Cary. Born March 14, 1965, in McHenry, to Royal and Barbara (nee Baker) Bernier, he died Friday, March 6, 2009, at Good Shepherd Hospital, after a courageous battle with cancer. He married Lynn Radz on July 25, 1987, in Glenview. Randy graduated from Glenbrook South High School in 1983. He graduated from DePauw University in Greencastle, Ind., with a bachelor of science degree, where he played football and was a member of the Phi Delta Theta fraternity. He worked as a senior project manager for OfficeMax Corporate Headquarters. Randy loved spending time with his family and friends. He enjoyed watching his children play sports, Cary-Grove High School football, the Chicago Bears, and listening to Jimmy Buffett and Bruce Springsteen. He was the beloved husband of Lynn; loving father to Ryan, Lauren, Lindsey and Ross Bernier; son of Royal and Barbara (Baker) Bernier; brother of Debbie (Mark) Heidenreich; and uncle of several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Harold J. and Elsie Mae Baker; and paternal grandmother, Louise Segebrecht. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Randall B. Bernier Family Fund, c/o Chase Bank, 300 N. Northwest Highway, Cary, IL 60013. For information, call 815-459-3411.

I did not know u long from support group but I just wanted to say that Randy leaves a legacy behind..he has shown to others what fighting is all about.
