What a wonderful, delightful, giving man! I was so fortunate to meet Dick through Katie, his beautiful granddaughter and wife to my son Tim. One of the benefits of extended families is getting to know and meet people like Dick. He added a spark of love and laughter to every celebration he attended - be it a wedding, a family birthday, or a sporting event. He will be missed.

Dick Scholten was not only my boss at HALO, but also my mentor, bridge partner and friend. Professionally...Top Notch. Personally...A wonderful loving guy.

I knew without question, that once Dede and Papa looked at me as a Scholten, it was set...I was a lifer. I will forever remember egg salad in a Cool Whip containers, trail mix (with I think extra M&M's just for me) and that they hung onto Frank's (my grandpa) birdhouse from my wedding. While I remember the Lonsdale house, I have memories of always running over to see Papa and Dede whenever we were in town. When I brought Craig to meet them, it was like we just fit, like we were just another few members of the family. Some are right, they are probably dancing among the stars together, but I will only ever hear Papa talking about how lucky he is to have snagged the most beautiful woman around, and Dede laughing. They were without question the definition of forever after. Love to you all.
