Charlie was my roommate at Kent State in 1963. My sophomore year, Rick Weaver (Chucks buddy) and I drove to East Greenville to visit. We met Chucks parents. They were gracious hosts. I last talked to Chuck about 10 years ago. I don't know why, but he popped into my mind recently, so I thought I'd look him up and say hi, and was stunned to read of his passing. He was a very good man, intelligent and principled. I'm very sorry he has departed from this life and that our paths will never cross again.

My sincere condolences to charlies family
and friends. I hadn't seen anyone from high school graduation until 16 Oct,2010.
It's hard to know what at such a troubling time. I remember Charlie with his short dark hair . And him running down the field to make that touch down.
Well now God is his Quarterback . And
every time I look up in the night sky and see a shooting star it'll be Charlie going for the touchdown. He will be sorely missed but never forgotten.I'll
be there someday to cheer you on.Take care of yourself Charlie. We'll Miss you

I extend my heartfelt sympathy to you Janice and family. I feel fortunate that my last memory of Charlie was laughing with him at the after-reunion party. How fortunate we all are to have known him and carry all those wonderful memories with us. Having experienced the loss of my husband I know how much memories help ease the pain. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Dear Jan and family, I'm so sorry to hear of Charlie's passing. He was a wonderful person and a true patriot. He loved his family and his country and he showed that love through his actions. I smile when I think of the satisfaction on his face as he handed out Pocket Constitutions to anyone who would stop for a moment. His engaging personality helped him make friends quickly. I will personally miss his friendship, and West Suburban Patriots will miss his enthusiastic participation in our group.
Jan, please let us know if we can do anything to help you and your family at this difficult time. May God bless and comfort you.

I am so sad to have gotten the email telling me that Charlie has gone. I went to school with Charlie and spent almost every class in a seat near him since his last name started with a B and mine with a G. Almost always worked out that he was in the first row and I was in the second row near to him. What wonderful memories we have of those days. Was an absolute delight to see him at at our last class reunion. I remember the hugs and greetings so well. Wish we could be near you, Janice , to comfort you at this time. May the Lord fill you with His comfort and we offer you our prayers and sympathy. Hugs to you today. Faye (Gehman) and Jim Hertzler
