SARAH MEGAN GARVEY

Sarah Megan Garvey Sarah Megan Garvey, 39, of Chicago, passed away on Monday, May 13, 2013 at her home in the presence of her loving family. She was born Aug. 13, 1973 in Libertyville and was a 1991 graduate of Libertyville High School. She was also a graduate of Columbia College in Chicago and received her nursing degree from St. Ambrose University in Davenport, Iowa. Sarah was a very accomplished actress and choreographer. She acted in many theatre productions during her career, including the National Tour for Sesame Street Live. She was a Dance Captain at Six Flags, Great America, did commercials and movies. She also volunteered at Children's Memorial Hospital and was a former fitness instructor at the Centre Club in Libertyville. Surviving are her father, Michael (Judy) Garvey of Cape Canaveral, FL; her brother, Scott (Arya) Garvey of Culver City, CA and sister, Shannon (Aaron) Nightingale of Las Vegas, NV; stepsisters, Tara (John) Reminsz, Rachel (Steve) Green and Faye Alexander; her aunts, Susan Recknagel, Sue (Gary) Clark and her godparents, Art and Marie Dumdey. She was preceded in death by her mother Mary Garvey in1998. Funeral services will be held a 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 17 at the Burnett-Dane Funeral Home Ltd., 120 W. Park Ave. (Route 176, one block west of Milwaukee Ave.), Libertyville. Interment will be at Lakeside Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
