RUTH WADSWORTH Obituary

BIRMINGHAM- Ruth Ogletree Wadsworth, 90, passed away Thursday, December 6, 2012. She was born on June 7, 1992 in Birmingham to John Franklin Ogletree and Pauline Cooper Ogletree. Ruth was a dedicated wife, mother and homemaker and is survived by her husband of 73 years William "Claude" Wadsworth. When Claude and Ruth were first married they owned and operated a grocery store in Easonville, AL. They also owned a service station in Birmingham and Ruth helped with all of the bookkeeping. Ruth was known by many for her wonderful cooking especially her roast beef, turkey and dressing, divinity candy and blueberry crunch pie. She enjoyed genealogy and spent much of her spare time in libraries, court houses and cemeteries. Since 1955, she was a dedicated member of the Mary Bell Class at Woodlawn United Methodist. She is preceded in death by her parents, John and Pauline Ogletree and brother Frank Ogletree, Jr. and son-in-law Luther James. She is survived by her sisters Joyce Ogletree Lollar and Mildred Patterson Lee. She is also survived by her three children, Martha Eastis and her husband Joe of Hoover, AL; Claudia James of Spruce Pine, AL and Mary Sparks and her husband Randy of Clay, Alabama. Her grandchildren include Bill Eastis and his wife Mary (Forsythe, GA), Debbie King and her husband Mark (Huntsville, AL), Todd James (Spruce Pine, AL), Cathy James (Spruce Pine, AL), Brooks Wadsworth Wall and his wife Julie (Chelsea, AL) and David Wall (Kihea, HI). Great grandchildren include Jordan Eastis, Hayden Eastis, Emily Ruth King and Baylor Hill. Her funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm, Saturday, December 8, 2012 at Kilgroe Funeral Home in Pell City, Alabama with burial at Oak Ridge Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from noon until 1:00 p.m. at Kilgroe Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Lakeside Hospice, P.O. Box 544, Pell City, AL 35125. Kilgroe Funeral Home, Pell City, will direct the service.
