Elizabeth R. Hilaman

1919 - 2014

Elizabeth R. Hilaman, 94, of Rising Sun, Md., passed away Saturday, Jan. 18, 2014, at Calvert Manor Healthcare Center.
Born on April 5, 1919, in West Chester, Elizabeth was the daughter of the late A. Brinton and Mary Cloud Reynolds.
She graduated in 1943 from Erlham College in Richmond, Ind., with a degree in home economics.
She was active in many organizations, among them Calvert Grange, Calvert PTA, and Rosebank United Methodist Church.
She was a homemaker and secretary/treasurer for Hilaman Milling Inc.
She is survived by three sons, Charles R. Hilaman and wife, Eleanor, of Nottingham, Pa., Robert L. HIlaman and wife, Theresa, of Elkton, Md., and James E. Hilaman and wife, Betsy, of Colora, Md.; and three daughters, Mary Beth Bickel and husband, Harry, of Airville, Pa., Debbie Pierce of Newark, Del.m and Susan Vadala and husband, Leo, of Bowie, Md.; 19 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, C. Raymond Hilaman; two brothers; and a sister.
A service honoring her life will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 22, at Rosebank United Methodist Church, with a visitation beginning at 10 a.m.
Burial will be at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 23, at Oxford Cemetery.
