James Karem Obituary

FALMOUTH James P. Karem of Falmouth, formerly of Dedham, died Thursday, June 11, 2009. He was a retired Dedham school teacher and guidance counselor at Dedham Junior High School for 40 years. A graduate of Suffolk University, he earned his master's in education. He was a World War II veteran of the U.S. Coast Guard. Beloved husband of Rita (Arnold) Karem; he was the devoted brother of Elizabeth Gruseck of Norwood, and the late Anthony Karem and Sadie Raymond. He was also survived by several nieces and nephews. The funeral will take place at the George F. Doherty & Sons Wilson-Cannon Funeral Home, 456 High St., Dedham, on Wednesday, June 17, at 8 a.m. A funeral Mass is at St. Marys Church, Dedham, at 9 a.m. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Visiting hours are Tuesday, June 16, from 4 to 8 p.m., at the funeral home. Interment is in Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne, at 11:30 a.m. Online guestbook and directions are at www.gfdoherty. com.
