Albert THOMPSON Obituary

WILLIAMSBURG - Albert (Abe) Michael Thompson Jr. went to be with his Lord on Aug. 28, 2010.
He was born on Nov. 13, 1920, in Rocky Mount, N.C., to Albert Michael and Mary Powell Thompson. After graduating from Rocky Mount High School, he went for barber training in Charlotte, N.C.. He served his country during World War II, as a Private First Class, in the Army Second Battalion, 274th Infantry Regiment, G Company in Europe. After returning from the war, he owned a Barbecue Restaurant in Rocky Mount, for a short time before moving to Williamsburg in 1952, where he owned and operated Abe's Barber Shop and Beauty Bar, until his retirement.
As a charter member of Grace Baptist Church, he served in many capacities including teacher, deacon and treasurer. His family has a rich heritage as a result of his deep faith and love for the Lord. He had a great love for his family and friends and truly never knew a stranger.
