Grace ROBERTSON Obituary
She was born Nov. 30, 1924, in Indianapolis, Ind., the daughter of James and Effie (Williford) Pulley.
She was affectionately known as Amazing Grace and lived life to the fullest. She was a woman far beyond her time. She started flying planes at the age of 12 and received her pilot license in 1940 at the age of 16. She also was a member of the Civil Air Patrol. She had several careers in her lifetime from the Medical to the Hospitality Industry. She loved to jitter-bug and was the luckiest person you would have ever met.
She is survived by her husband of 40 years, Pierce Robertson Jr.; two sons, Richard Lodge (Nancy), of Hertford, N.C., and Edward C. Rendleman (Beth Smith) of Kernersville, N.C.; and three daughters, Linda Raskopf (Gary) of Winter Haven, Fla., Carol Sassard (Gary) of Altamonte Springs, Fla., and Jean Ray (Steven Lucca) of Toano, Va. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 2, 2010, at Nelsen Funeral Home, Williamsburg. Services will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 3, 2010, at Nelsen Funeral Home at 10 a.m. Interment to follow at Quantico National Cemetery at 2 p.m.
