Robert GARRETT Obituary
Bob, or "Pop Pop Ice Cream," as he was affectionately known to his 14 grandchildren, was an avid outdoorsman, who loved hunting, fly fishing, and gardening. A retired metallurgical engineer, he spent many years building and managing steel mills in New York, Indiana and Michigan. Bob retired to Williamsburg in 2001.
He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Florence Garrett; three sons, Robert K. Garrett Jr. and his wife, Susan, Michael Garrett and his wife, Terri, and Paul Garrett; and three daughters, Katherine Thomas and her husband, Carl, Margaret Garrett, and Christina Friedli and her husband, Kenneth.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 12, at Nelsen Funeral Home, 3785 Strawberry Plains Rd., Williamsburg. A funeral Mass will be held at 9 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 13, at St. Bede Catholic Church, 3686 Ironbound Rd., Williamsburg.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be to the Arthritis Foundation (http://www.arthritis.org/about-us.php).

Oh how sorry I was to see that Mr Garrett passed away as I was reading the obit of my childhood friend who passed away on Oct 6. You guys had been in my prayers and I was so hopeful that he would have a full recovery.You have my deepest condolences and pray that you can find the strength to make it through this tough time--to last see your face as you spoke with so much love in your heart for Mr Garrett and anguish that you could not do more for him than that. My heart is saddened.......to be absent of the body is to be present with the Lord Almighty our Savior.

I am so sorry for the loss of Bob...one of our "guys" at water aerobics. He will be missed. Praying for the family.
