Anderson DeLOATCH Obituary

HAMPTON - Anderson Thomas DeLoatch "Andy", departed this life on Wednesday, July 14, 2010, at Riverside Regional Medical Center at the age of 71.
He was born in Northampton County to the late Moses and Annie DeLoatch on Nov. 5, 1938. Andy attended elementary and high school in Severn and Pendleton, N.C.
He spent his spare time gardening, fishing or with his children and grandchildren. Andy was most affectionately known as "Pop". He was a great friend, counselor, mentor, natural comedian, and a father figure to many. He will be truly missed.
Mr. DeLoatch is survived by six children, Anthony DeLoatch, Tyrone DeLoatch, Walter McFadgen (Kim), Hubert McFadgen (Judy), Karen DeLoatch -Bryant (Caroll), and Yolanda DeLoatch-Leonard (Steven); 13 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren; four sisters, Annie Mae Daye (Linwood), Ann Curry, Dozene DeLoatch, and Cora Rogers (Kater); one brother, Moses DeLoatch; his companion of 40 years, Beatrice Huey; a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 11a.m. Monday, July 19, 2010, at Sixth Mount Zion Baptist Temple. Interment will be in Galilee Baptist Church Cemetery in Branchville, Va. Viewing will be from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home and two hours prior to the service at the church on Monday.
