Jessica LYNCH Obituary
She was a native of Hampton, Va., and a resident in Manassas, Va., where she was a member of Oak Shade Baptist Church in Catlett, Va.
She is survived by her parents, Vernard and Joyce Lynch of Hampton; two brothers, Raynard (Tijuana) Lynch of Temple Hills, Md., and Minister Dernard (Felicia) Lynch of Newport News, Va.
Viewing of Jessica will begin 1 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 13, 2011, at O. H. Smith & Son Funeral Home, 3009 Chestnut Ave., Newport News, VA, with the family being present to receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. A funeral service will be held at noon Saturday, Jan. 15, 2011, at Pine Chapel Baptist Church, Hollister, N.C. Interment will follow in the Lynch Family Cemetery.

So sorry to read of Jessica's passing. Our families introduced long ago, and it was from the Barber Shop on 25th Street that I remember Raynard, Dernard and later beautiful daughter Jessica. Please know that my prayers of comfort are with you and the family. You have always done for others: i.e. cutting Sam's ( uncle, Joe Johnson) hair when he was unable to get to your shop, a deed remembered and a "thank you" deserved. I'm still having a difficult time believing this. We grew up with one another as neighbors, went to school and played together, and at times got in trouble together. It had been a while since we spoke, but we would always catch up with each other when we happened to be visiting our parents at the same time. Jessica was always sweet and kind hearted and had a cute shyness about her. I loved to hear her talk it was so unique . May God continue to strengthen and comfort you at this time.
