Dear Nancy,
I didn’t know of David’s passing until yesterday, when Dad and Elsie told me about it at church, and I was so sorry to hear the news. I’ll never forget the night years ago when you and David gave a private concert just for us in their living room. In the days to come, I hope that memories of joyful times spent in his company, and knowing that he is safely home, will help ease the loss of your beloved friend.

Nancy,
We are very sorry, and shocked to hear about Dave's passing. Dave had such a good personality, a beautiful voice, and could really play the guitar. He always talked to us as if he had known us all his life. We enjoyed listening to the music you and Dave played at City Center this summer... Ever since you and Dave gave us the CDs with the song "Goodbye and Goodluck", we have truley enjoyed listening to them on a daily basis. We wish that we could have been able to tell him that. Please know that our thoughts and prayers are with you, and please accept our heartfelt sympathy.
Your Friends from "City Center"...Kathy, Beverly, Freddie, Marcia, Butch, and Walter.

Dear Nancy & Dave's Family,
It was with great sadness that Bill & I learned of Dave's passing. He was such a kind and generous friend - always willing to encourage and help us with our musical attempts. We will miss him very much. Now Dave has crossed the "River of Jordon" and surely is playing glorious songs with Earl.

The world has lost a dear man. I have known Dave for over 25 years beginning when he lived at Gordon's Trailer Court in Buckroe Beach. He played music for all of our picnics and installed floors in most of our properties. He stayed intouch after his move, stopping by my office from time to time. I was lucky enough to catch he and Nancy playing music at a nursing home a few months ago. Bluegrass and Nancy were the light in his eyes!! RIP dear friend. I will miss you!!

What a great guy!! Amen!
Much love and prayers for peace, strength and comfort to the famlly. You don't have to worry about Dave, God's gonna take great care of him!
I met Dave through my best friends family (Chip Bowen.) Unfortunatley I did not keep in contact with him, which is definatley my loss.
I worked with him at Ault carpet for a couple of years. He hired me when I was needing a job at the reference of Chip's Mom. He taught me well about a valuable trade. We shared many a breakfast before we got started preping floors on cold mornings in houses where there was NO heat, lugging rolls of vynil through muddy constuction sites, mixing floor patch in a 5 gal bucket, working daylight until past sunset. Chip & I worked many a job with him for some needed walkin' around money, great memories. I learned an awful lot from Dave. He taught me a lot about hard work and that it won't kill ya, " Kin ye do that while yer a'restin', & "git it up agin the wall" are my personal favorite ol' saying from him.
I have some great memories of camping at Bluegrass Festivals & playing til the wee hours.
A dependable friend who could fix about anything.
A true "Bluegrass Gentleman", Flatts & Scruggs cain't do no better.
I'll see ya on the other side ol' friend.
