Fannie JENKINS Obituary

NEWPORT NEWS - Fannie M. Jenkins (nee Wilson), 94, passed away at home on Wednesday, Sept. 22, 2010, the last day of summer.
She was survived by her husband, Lt. Col. Robert L. Jenkins (USAF, Ret.); and son, Dr. Robert T. Jenkins of Toronto, Canada. Fannie will be dearly missed by her surviving family and many friends, particularly Sally and David Spreder.
Her fondness for flowers, sewing, crocheting, cooking and reading the Scripture abided with her to the end. Fannie was a woman of deep faith and firm convictions. She was a member, though inactive, of Hilton Baptist Church. There could never have been a better or more loving wife and mother.
A private graveside service was conducted Monday, Sept. 27.
In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, 5712 Cleveland Street #100, Virginia Beach, VA 23462 or Native American Aid, A Member of National Relief Charities, P.O. Box 5500, Spearfish, SD 57783 or to your favorite charity.
Peninsula Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements. View and post condolences on our online guestbook at dailypress.com/guestbooks.

My famlies deepest condolences go out to my old friend Tommy. It's been years since my family lived in the Jenkins neighborhood, but I still remember The Jenkins and how nice their yard and home always looked. The Jenkin's family was a warm a friendly family and will be missed.
