The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Friday, June 25, at Peninsula Funeral Home. Services will be held at 9:45 a.m. Saturday, June 26, at Denbigh Baptist Church, with burial to follow in Peninsula Memorial Park. Peninsula Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Jeannie,
I just received your email. To you, Mary, Johnny and whole family -- I am so sorry for your loss. Though we know we will not have them forever, our hearts still grieve greatly. I remember her graciousness to me as I visited in your home some Sunday afternoons, Jeannie. She and your father were always kind to my family. I am so glad she knew the Lord Jesus and is at home in heaven, now. May you sense the loving arms of our "God of all comfort" wrapping you closely (1 Cor. 1:3) in these difficult days and the weeks & months ahead.

To all friends and Family. Thanks for all your love. My Mom Loved each and everyone of you. She had the biggest heart a son would ever ask for. I will miss her every day of my life,her smile and glistening in her eyes whenever I came into the room. I will miss her stories of back in the 20's 30's 40's 50's and on an on she would talk. She will always live in my mind with so many great memories that which will always be a part of me where she can still live in my memories.I really loved my Mom and I know she loved me and yes all of you too.

My 5th grade teacher in Lee Hall Elementary School in 1960. I ran into her in the 80's and she still remembered me! Rest in Peace, Mrs. Newell.

We are so sorry for the lost of your beloved mother. May she continue to shine down on you and your family. I can remember her like it was yesterday as she taught me and my friends in school in 1976. May God Bless you and your family.

TO MARY, JEANNIE, AND JOHNNIE, I know that this is a difficult time for you, but know that your Mom, and my Aunt lived a full life and look to the special times that you all shared with her. I just hear about Aunt Frances death today from Faye. That is how I will remember her, and the good memories that we shared as I was growing up back in Hampton. Also the family gatherings we all had when Grandma Jones was still with us, at her home, in Newport News. Treasure your memories, and know that she is at peace and without pain anymore. Plus, as she gets adjusted to her heavenly home, she will be watching over you and your families.

Johnny, Jeannie and Mary......I was deeply saddened to read about your Mother. I have known your family a very long time, almost all my life. The neighborhood will sure miss you Frances. You always kept us up on the history of the area, having lived here so long. It was a pleasure being your neighbor for these 32 years.
I still remember your son, Johnny, greeting us so happily with a big bucket of chicken the night we moved in those many years ago.
