Jae LIM Obituary

WILLIAMSBURG - Jae Kyung Lim, 88, died Monday, Nov. 29, 2010. He was born May 17, 1922, in Ham-Kung-Buk-Do, Sung-Jin.
Mr. Lim graduated from Hark Sung Middle School in 1936 and moved to Kyeng-Ki Do, Po-Chun in 1945. He joined the Korean Army in 1946 and served as a medical technician. Later he joined the Police Academy and moved to Bu-San.
Mr. Lim came to the United States in 1974. He was a founding member of the Peninsula Korean Baptist Church. He served as the 8th President of the Korean Association and was a former President of the Korean Senior Citizens Group. He retired from the Williamsburg Pottery in 1987 as a floral designer.
In his later years, Mr. Lim enjoyed the game of golf, especially making a hole-in-one!
Mr. Lim met and married Nam Do Chung in 1951.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by six children, Yong Soo Lim, Yong Ho Lim, Yong Ja Yoo, Judy McKin, Lisa Joo and Anna Smith; 11 grandchildren, including Chul Yoo; and 12 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 1, at Peninsula Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 2, also at the funeral home with burial to follow in Peninsula Memorial Park.
