Jonathan TERRILL Obituary
He was a lifelong resident of Newport News and was self employed as a carpenter. Jon loved working with wood. He was very passionate about his trade, and was able to make or build 'something' out of 'nothing.' Jon was a hardworking family man with a great love for his wife and children, including his faithful dog, Lucy. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, sports, and being at the beach.
He was preceded in death by his father, Robert F. Terrill Jr.; brother, Robert F. Terrill III; grandfather, Fred Worley; and a special cousin, Joey Bell.
Survivors include his wife, Mandy L. Terrill; his 11 year old daughter, Taylor Renee Terrill; his nine month old son, J. Cole Terrill; mother and stepfather, Telisa and Glen Holcomb; his in-laws, Albert L. DeHart Jr. and Mary Ellen DeHart; brother, Jason Terrill and his wife, Patricia; niece, Susan Terrill; nephew, Dylan Terrill; grandmothers, Norma Ruth Worley and Mary Terrill; grandfather, Robert F. Terrill Sr.; aunts, uncles, cousins and friends, including his best friend, Jimmy Thacker.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 7, at Peninsula Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 8, at Peninsula Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, per Jon's belief in education for his children, a fund has been opened at Bayport Credit Union, the Taylor and Cole Terrill Scholarship Memorial Fund, 12512 Warwick Blvd., Newport News, VA 23606.

Where do I start? I have known you since I was 15. We have spent lots of times together. laughing, joking, court days (lol), me and Mandy sneaking around to hang out with you when we were forbidden. haha but over the years, Ive never stopped thinking of you and Mandy and how happy I was when u finally asked her to be your wife. ( i said "its about damn time" :) )She has loved you since she was just a young girl and now thru adulthood, and I know that you were her EVERYTHING.
Now you have 2 beautiful children and we can always look at them to see you physically, knowing one day we will all meet up with you in heaven. Please keep your eye on Mandy and ur two kids and give them comfort in knowing that u will always be their protector, as you were here on earth. They love you so much!!! You will be missed soo much and anything that we can do in your honor, we will. Just please promise to protect Mandy and the kids, and comfort their broken hearts. OH HOW I miss you. This has been one of the hards things for me. We all know 3 deaths but losing you at 29 Oh words can not say. I am tryng to be strong but it is so hard.We are here for Mandy and our 2 babies. Anything they need we will be right there.

Today has been extremely hard- the one week anniversary of your life crossing over to heaven's gates. There are a few things I want you to know, although I'm sure you already do know-
I love you with all of my heart- always have, and always will. We have been through thick and thin and it doesn't stop now. I have spent half of my life being with you and will spend the rest of it with you in my heart. I want you to know that Taylor and Cole miss you very much and love you more than words could even express.
I wanted to grow old with you hand in hand- now it will be in my heart, but as long as I have those memories and continue to share them with Taylor and Cole you will also be in their hearts.

I can not believe it's been a week already that I recieved that terrible call. One thing I know for sure, if God gave me another hundred years to live it still wouldn't be enough time to tell you how much I love you and how much i'm goning to miss you!I know that your in heaven right now holding Robbie,hugging your Dad and cracking jokes with Joey. because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.
I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.
There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.
If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.
So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
