Nannette HOFFMAN Obituary

NEWPORT NEWS - Nannette S. Hoffman, 81, passed away on Thursday, Dec. 9, 2010.
She was a native of New York City and had lived in the D.C. area, for 40 years, before moving to Newport News in 2002. She was a fine artist, teacher and poet. She received her B.A. from Hofstra University, her M.A. in English from Georgetown University, and was a Master Copyist of Fine Art at the National Gallery of Art in D.C.
Survivors include her husband of 33 years, Edwin Y. Hoffman; two daughters, Mirella Savage and husband, Daniel of Newport News, and Gwen Seidlitz of Reston, Va.; one son, Graham M. Schweig, Ph.D. of Newport News; and four grandchildren, Marcus, Jay, Sarah and Jakob.
Memorial services will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 12, at First United Methodist Church.

To my dear friend and neighbour we shared lots of happy visits,and lots of laughs .Your art was a precious gift and you did your t.v. show Art and Insights on local T .V. which I watched and then we discussed.Your appreciation of music we shared as we would travel to a grocery store I would sing my latest song from voice class .We should all try to be as beautiful as you,you have a pure soul I shall miss you . your friend
