Rebecca HEATH Obituary
She was preceded in death by maternal grandparents, William M. "George" and Stella Blankenship Carroll; and paternal grandparents, Bill C. and Dorothy "Granny" Jones.
She is survived by her beautiful daughters, Kaileigh Shay Lanning and Emma Elizabeth Heath; her mother, Sue Jones Heichel and stepfather, Ron Heichel; father, Jimmy Jones; sister, Nicole Jones Davies; and best friend, partner of life and love Ron Heath.
She will be met at the gates of heaven by her uncle, William "Charlie" Carroll and cousin, Joshua Lee Jones. She will be greatly missed by her "ladies", family, friends and friends who became family.
Becky, an icon of her beloved Hilton Village gave of herself generously to the many civic and community events that promoted the unique and friendly environment of Hilton. She served as the 3rd Vice-President for the Village Voice and put in many hours of fundraising for various community events. She was an active member of Hilton Kiwanis, Hilton Village Garden Club, and Historic Hilton Village Horticulture Group.
In lieu of flowers, a special fund has been set up in her mother's name, Sue Heichel to help with expenses, at Suntrust Bank, 5211 Mercury Blvd., Newport News, VA 23605 (Newmarket Location). Please write in the memo "Love for Becky."
Becky never met a stranger and opened her heart to everyone; she was the sunshine of our lives and hearts. She had a heart as big as her love for life as shown in the numerous donations of her organs to LifeNet and its recipients.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, Oct. 6, at Peninsula Funeral Home from noon to 2 p.m. and 5 to 7 p.m. A memorial service will follow the celebration of life at 7:30 p.m.

She's in a better place, I've said a thousand times and at least a thousand times, I've rejoiced for it. For to be absent of the body is to be present with the Lord. Becky, I still remember you as my little protoge - you loved art and everything creative and were so talented. You were fun and sweet and loved life passionately. Becky you were a good friend and never hesitated to help anyone in need. Your smile lit up the room and your personality consumed it. You were always laughing, joking, and could turn a bad situation into something funny. I don't think you ever really knew how many people's lives you've touched and how many thought so highly of you. My heart was my broken when I heard the news. Even though we had not had contact in years, she had recently "friended" my brother Albert on FB & he had caught me up with her. I am deeply saddened by the news. Becky, along with my other wonderful friends at SHS made it possible for me to make it through my family tragedy years ago. Her smile & laughter still resonates with me today. We played alot more in high school than we should have but our personalities matched so well. Hold on to one another tight & love each other. Memories....the beach, the sand, camping, Kaileigh's birth, decorating a nursery and then a toddler room, friends, Lance's birth, baby showers, the first for both Kaileigh and Lance that we shared together as friends. Backyard cookouts, parties, Kaileigh's Christening where I got stung by LOTS of bees, singing and acting like fools, 4th of July, Hilton Parades, The Hilton Country Club, crazy Taxi rides and sleeping in hammocks. These are just a FEW things that are now memories of Becky and I. I know time and different situations pulled us in two directions, but the friendship was true, geniune, and full of wonderful times. Sue, Kaileigh and Emma... please use this time to become stronger TOGETHER! Talk, Listen and Cry..but LAUGH. Your mom and daughter won't want it any other way. Ya know, God only gives us what he KNOWS we can handle. Remember it, used this as a strength builder that plays over and over again. It will work and time will tell. I can only imagine the true extent of the heartbreak and despair that all of you are going through at this time of such a significant and tragic loss. As time passes by, the grief that you now are suffering though will fade but the joy and love that you all shared with Becky will intensify. Becky was one of the few people in the world with the ability to make everyone feel comfortable and enjoy being around her. We lost contact when I moved from Smithfield but when I met up with her again earlier this year it was as if nothing had changed. I will forever miss that smile and laughter. Rest in peace. I hadn't seen Becky in 25 years, but had reconnected with her a bit on FB. I could tell she was still a truly sweet person. We don't always know the reasons behind some of the things that happen in this world, so perhaps its best to focus on and honor what Becky was to this world and her family, and carry the torch onward. our prayers were not answered this time.. so I can only hope that Becky's were...as sad as it is.. God has taken his angel back for now... possibly her job was complete or she simply was too good for this ugly world we live in... regardless she did belong to him first ... and we pray for the strenghth to honor this arrangement and one day be appreciative for the short short time we were allowed to be graced by her presence...girls please do not doubt that she will be watching over you always ... now you can talk to her where ever and whenever .. phones, emails and text are no longer required... my heart will forever ache for all of you... To Kaleigh, Emma and Becky's mom , dad and sister - I am very sorry for your loss. Becky was a joy to talk to, always laughing, happy and had the best sense of humor. I enjoyed our friendship. She loved her family and friends and will surely be missed. May God be with you during this difficult time. I am saddened i never got home to see her and plan a visit like we had talked about. I enjoyed hearing about newport news (my hometown) from becky. I feel sure she is watching over her children from heaven.

To Becky's family, I am so sorry for your loss. Becky and I have been friends for a number of years and when my daughter and son-in-law moved to Hilton, she helped to make them feel welcomed. I really came to think of Becky as "Miss Hilton", she was always at the forefront of all the social activities and what a job she did. I know that the world is a better place because she was in it. May her memory be eternal.

I met Becky on a hayride at Church around 1980. She was wild and fun, and from that day forward we were friends. In recent years, we reconnected at SHS reunion luncheons put together by Vicki and Becky. I also talked to her recently at a concert in Busch Gardens. She was a good friend and will be surely missed. To the family, I am truly sorry for your loss. May God Bless and comfort you.
